Is there a way I can do a batch posting which puts meets on all the schools in our league? Usually, all schools are together at the same site for our meets.  This would make sure all schools get the complete list, saving everyone some data entry time.

Thanks

Ok, here is a solution.  I believe this solution should only be used for league meets where you know which teams are coming.  It should not be used for invitational’s where you "hope" a team is coming.

Step1, use notepad or similar to create a text file with the following first line:

Track and Field calendar preload

Step 2, list 1 team per line.  Example file:

Track and Field calendar preload
Butte Falls
Camas Valley
Days Creek

Step 3

  • add the meet to your season calendar,
  • go to the public meet page,
  • click on the upload link, top right corner, and
  • upload the file.
  • click on the School tab,
  • verify that each team is matched up correctly, then
  • click on the Finalize tab and
  • click "Add calendars now"

That would be a big help.

Currently, no.  I started development of a feature last season that would include that option, but it is not on the priority project list at the moment.

Possible solution:  Our new result uploader does contain the ability to add meets to attending team calendars. (Currently Admin approval is required before team calendars are modified.)  You could add the meet to your own calendar, upload a special attending team file, and request calendar addition.  I will look into this.

Thanks. Worked faster than I can drop piece of toast buttered-side down. Probably will take a few hours for you guys to approve it. Will check tomorrow.

Will this feature be available in cross country?

Your welcome.  Calendars have been added.

To early to tell.  Depending on the success of the new upload system in TF, we may implement it with XC as well.

So is the answer yes yet?  Can we use it in Cross Country.

1. is the hack we used for cross something we don't generally share? (feel free to delete this comment if the answer is yes :-) )

2. this still is the method for track? time to start adding next springs schedule and might as well do my whole league while I'm at it

Hi Don,

It is fine to share the tip on how to pre-load XC calendars, but (for now) I would stick with passing it on to just those who are involved with using the XC Uploader.

Additionally, to repeat what David said:

David Bowdoin:

believe this solution should only be used for league meets where you know which teams are coming.  It should not be used for invitational’s where you "hope" a team is coming.

Pre-loading for state meets and regional meets are fine as well, even though some of those team will not be attending (didn't qualify for the meet).

Yes, this is still the method for track. :-)

We use fancy things called contracts around here :-) for invitationals, so once I get a contract I think it's okay.  I used it for like 600 schools or something the other day ... so what a time saver that was.
