How about totalling number of boys and girls on current roster?
Thanks,
Ken Shawcroft
Done! I needed to edit the athlete editor today so I added the feature while I was at it. (It is below the current roster)
Thanks for the suggestion.
On the Edit Athlete page theres a link that allows you to synchronize you indoor & outdoor rosters. What about your CC & track rosters? Just a thought.
A time saver for doing 2008 roster: if I could go down the 2007 list and click a toggle on each athlete "add to 2008", then click "update"....
As rosters get longer: when looking at the list, rather than 2 choices (this year, all years) - could a range be possible (eg 2 years, 3 years)?
and/or
Could another column be added to right that shows the years each athlete has been put on the active roster?
Imagine 10 years down the road a new coach comes and is looking at a list of 200 names - might be useful to see historical connections of athletes.

I assume that these rosters are usually - most often, quite dis-similar, especially with larger teams, so it would provide little time savings, at least after the first season. Do I assume wrong?

We automatically roll the rosters forward after the completion of each season, though this does not help coaches who are going back and entering past results.

Nice idea, I like it! This is more than a minor update to the athlete editor, but I will see about adding it in the next time we update the athlete editor system.

Well, to be honest, I hadn't used the indoor/outdoor roster synch, because we don't have a school sanctioned indoor season here in Texas. I was simply thinking that if it was available for indoor track, why not for cross-country too.
As far as your thought about the rosters being dis-similar, that's quite true for most teams, but I would think that most cross-country athletes will also appear on track rosters, it's the reverse that's not as frequent.
As I said the first time, just a thought.
Gentlemen, What is the best way to transfer the names of my fall X-C Roster to my spring Track Roster? I know you have a process of combining duplicate names so I'm not too worried about that, it's just that we had a lot of new runners on this year's X-C team that were not on last years Track team. Thanks, as always, Paul Swanson Here's the original link for this request. I don't know if there's a way to merge threads, but that may be a good idea in this case.

That's a very elegant work-around. I like it.
