I am a coach for a middle Tennessee high school boys track team. We are in need of serious help for our throwers (discus & shot). I came into this school program this year and they are in some serious need of structure and training. My request is if ANYONE can offer or refer any hands on instruction I would greatly appreciate it. Also, we are looking for any available local competitions and/or camps! Thank you so much!

Are you looking for practice plans in general or for just tecnique guidance with the events?  Throwers, like you mentioned, need structure and consistancy in and out of the Discus and Shot ring.  Let me know.  I have been lucky enough to be around some good throws coaches who have let me in on what they do.

I really need physical guidance. Someone to critique and adjust what they are doing. I'm lost. Books don't help them or I.

I have a former athlete (hurdler) who moved to a school in Tennessee where there was no hurdle coach.  She sent me a video a couple weeks ago, and I was able to break it down for her as far as where she can work on her technique.

At the very least, if you cannot find someone to be there to help, you could send in video (through e-mail or Youtube, etc)  to someone who is willing and able in the throws to critique and help...just a thought.

Life is full of hurdles...and NONE are impossible.
