We are in the process of updating the meet results reports. To preview the new report, pull up a Track & Field meet, and then click on the "Test out the new Meet Results page!" link in the blue box near the top of the page.
Key changes on this report are the tabbed interface, as well as the ability to filter schools, divisions, and rounds. You can also hide events, allowing you to only print the events you are interested in.
Round two of changes on this report will be the inclusion of photos, which we are working on now.
Let us know if you have ideas for making this page better!
The filters are nice. Not sure I personally care about photos, but whatever :-)
I have not noticed the tabbed interface, so I guess I'll go back and look.
Okay, had a look at the tabs. I assume the "message" is only when I am a meet host, so that is a message for all who attended, not just my team? Not clear to me. But the one meet I looked at that had it I was the host -- but it doesn't have scores because it was MITCA style.
The next meet I looked at had scores, but I was not the host so it was lacking the message tab.
It also appears that the top "tabs" are exclusive ... so it's one or the other of them, but not two or more.
I get the part about only printing certain events. It might be nice if hide had some "grouped" functions. Currently you toggle one event of at a time. What about show field only, show sprints only, show middle distance only, show distance only, show relays only, show individual events only? Might be nice so that in situations where you have different sprint and field event codes ... or even better yet, let me save an event template of the events I like to show together perhaps -- favorite templates.
Just some thoughts.
Don Passenger:that is a message for all who attended, not just my team?
Correct. That message is from the meet host to all teams (viewable publicly by everyone: coaches, athletes, fans, etc). You can only modify it if you are the meet host.
Don Passenger:the top "tabs" are exclusive
The top tabs are exclusive, unless you 'pin' them open. The idea is keep the page shorter, but to still allow the viewing of multiple tabs (espcially for printing purposes). You'll click the little box on the right side of each tab to pin it open (won't have a noticeable affect on a tab you already have open, so try it with a tab that isn't yet open).

Like these ideas. I'll let them percolate for a bit, and see if we implement them.
Thanks for the feedback!
Like the tabs. Like the event hiding. Love the team filtering. Don't think I care about photos in the results but maybe when I see it I'll like it.
Agree that some more grouping capabilities would be convenient.
Would like to see team scoring too.
Would like to see some of this in XC reports too.
Thanks!
A couple of nits:
On the teams tab, the headings such as State:Section-Division are not lined up correctly over the column of team names.
The highlighter feature turns off all lines of highlighting when you select the X to try to cancel one line of highlighting.
See the following meet for an example.

We will look into this, but it won't be our top priority :).

Team scoring is available already for T&F for meets that have uploaded the scores (and only those meets). It will most likely be added to XC soon.

Thanks for all that you do! Sounds good.
Re: highlighting. After your description I understand it better and it will be easy to use and pretty intuitive. Perhaps it would be more intuitive if the icon for highlighting color appeared more to be a toggle button and/or perhaps with 3-d appearance?
Re: headings and columns not aligned. I am attempting to insert a screenshot of the columns and the About screen from IE8. See attached.
Edit: I pressed the "compatibility" button for IE8 (next to URL and refresh and stop buttons) and the report displayed without the heading/column problems.
Edit2: I noticed that the photo section on XC page displays fine without compatibility button but gives the browser/flash error message when the compatibility button is pressed.
Thanks. I believe this will be fixed in our next publish (next few days).
Love the updated meet results page! Hope in the future I can score highlighted teams or something ...
Love the new schedule layout ... much clearer and easier to follow.
I'm having trouble registering runners. I keep getting an unexpected error message. Steve Thompson-The Dalles Wahtonka
With what meet is this occuring? If you haven't already, try logging out and then back in again.
I tried several of our meets and I get the Unexpected Error message.
I have tried from work and from home.
the Brooks Meet in Hermiston is the one I'm trying to get into.
Thanks, Steve
Garth, I will look into the error today.
I was getting an unexpected error the other day related to having more than one raceID. I think mine was in uploading results. For whatever it's worth.
