Updated as of June 9, 2009: http://www.aiaonline.org/story/uploads/2009_2011_Conference_Alignment__1244574829.pdf

This alignment is a bit different from the last alignment.  5A is still divided into division 1 and division 2.  But, unlike 4A, there can be both D1 and D2 teams assigned to the same region.  There are still separate state championships for 5A-1 and 5A-2, however.

Ted, thanks for sending us the link to the updated alignments for Arizona.  Once we roll the site forward to enable the 2010 Track season to be edited, I will focus on getting the 5A updated to included D1 & D2 schools in the same region.

Last year we were able to find/receive a copy of alignments that dealt specifically with Cross Country (since they combine 1A/2A for XC).  Do you know if a file like this exists yet?

All I've seen is the tournament schedule indicating that 1A and 2A are combined while 3A, 4A-1, 4A-2, 5A-1, and 5A-2 each have their own championships: http://www.aiaonline.org/story/uploads/Fall___2009_Tournament_Schedule_1251231705.pdf

The 2009-2010 conference handbooks haven't been posted yet.

Thanks for letting me know.  I will wait until the 09-10 handbook is posted to check up on the schools for 1A/2A XC.

Additionally, custom lists are available for Cross Country now (NEW to Track last season)!  This will help in getting the state correctly aligned for the 5A classification, and provide the necessary performance lists.

You can look for the updates to occur within the next week or so.

Here's the Arizona cross country state meet guide: http://www.aiaonline.org/story/uploads/Cross_Country___2009_Tournament_Guide_1253214493.pdf

It provides the list of schools and how they are classified.

Thanks Ted!  The Arizona alignments for the 2009 XC season have been updated.  You can view these updates on the Arizona XC Homepage.
