New and inexperienced athletes, and those who are often in the dark, need an easy way to check what events they are in.  Another coach and I thought it would be nice if the kids could see the summary page from Register Athletes for Meet. Normally only the coach sees this.

How can we make it visible to the athletes? You could print out the faxable entry sheet and post it on the wall.

We found a way to put it on the team`s home page. Everyone can see it with no problem. Site supporters can add message boxes to their home page, and the top message box always opens automatically.

1. Register you athletes as normal.

2. Open a new window/tab and on the homepage cick to edit the top message box.

3. Use menu bar to insert a table (1 row 2 columns about 500 pixels wide - you can adjust).

4. Go to other window/tab which is displaying the main window of Register Athletes for Meet.

5.  Copy the left side boys` table completely then go back to home page window and paste it into the table`s left cell. Repeat the proceedure for the girls` table, putting it in the right cell (of course reverse is ok).

6. Save.

This gives you a very concise but complete and immediate reminder to all your athletes about their events. I like the brevity of this list over the long format of the faxable entry lists.

All the names and events will copy as clickable links, which is perhaps a worry - but actually anyone who is not logged in as the team`s coach might click but not be able to go anywhere. In my mind, fixing this is of little concern - but it can be done.

Example if you wish:   http://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/School.aspx?SchoolID=20412

Tickle my nose with a feather if this feature was already available in a way I did not know about.

Hey, Bruce!

That's a great idea.  I used the faxable/printable sheet instead, because I like that it gives the athletes a sense of "when" each event happens as we run them in the order listed.  I pasted the whole thing into a box, changed the font to make it more readable, and saved.  http://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/School.aspx?SchoolID=286

I'm likely to change the page again in the next day or so, but I won't delete that box.  I'll change the name to "Time Trial Entries" and move it slightly down the list.

Thanks for the great idea.

Have been seeing some great uses of this technique!  Way to be innovative.

Here is one more new method (for entries):
