I have not been able to upload the result from the BYU Invitational?  I still have the upload file posted.  I have formatted it from an Script file from the BYU site and saved it as a text file.  Looking at the parser the file looks fine.  Please, look at it as a possible format for importing.

Thanks

Currently, we will not be able to support this file type, but I will pass it on to David (website creator and engineer) to look at.  At this time, the best option for uploading complete results would be to obtain a copy of the .csv file if the meet was managed by HyTek (if this is possible).

Otherwise, looking at the file it also copy-pastes into separate Excel columns very easily.  This would enable you to format it in to the custom format that I emailed yesterday.

Thanks again for asking, and for using the site!

Is there an example of how the Excel file should look for up loading to track?  I have XC format down pat but have never tried to import an Excel file.

Hi Addison - Yes, you can find examples of the our CSV custom format for Uploading track results on the HELP tab of any of the Track & Field Uploader links.

Additionally, I will email you a specific file that I have created in Excel with the columns labeled where the appropriate information belongs.

Note: The Excel format in XC allowed you to enter information in any column as long as you had each column labeled with a header.  In track, there is an exact set up that needs to be followed.  The file I send you will point this out.

For any coaches who are interested, I went ahead and attached the file to this thread.

It is a regular Excel file right now, but you will need to save it as a CSV (comma-delimited) file before uploading with results.

Addison, just posted the rest of those 2006 results.  You got the format down perfectly! Cool

I would encourage you to make that available under help as well Dan.

I built my own a bit ago, but I think the average person may be able to cut and paste, but not create something like this.

I also renew my request for that help page to show appropriate syntax for time/distance marks as I'm not completely sure.

I have not looked at the file type, do they have a lot of results in that format?  If so I could look at writing a script to handle them.
